I am honored to represent District 44 in the Hawaiʻi State House of Representatives because I believe in putting Hawaiʻi first. To me, Hawaiʻi first means prioritizing the vitality and well-being of our communities, our people, and our residents. The decisions we make today affect not only ourselves, but future generations who will inherit the Hawaiʻi we shape.
Since 2022, I have worked every day to make that commitment real. Together with our community, we have secured funding for critical mental health services, supported our schools and local youth programs, expanded wildfire prevention and emergency access planning across the Waiʻanae Coast, and passed legislation to protect consumers, strengthen public safety, and support our kūpuna and working families. I have also continued to listen, learn, and stand alongside community members in moments of hardship, celebration, and everything in between.
My commitment is to ensure that every one of us has the opportunity to live and flourish in the Hawaiʻi we call home. The work is ongoing, and the time for action is always now. I am proud and humbled to serve as your Representative for Māʻili, Lualualei, Nānākuli, Honokai Hale, and Ko Olina. Our home. Our community. Our future. Together.
Meet Darius
Darius Kila currently resides in Māʻili, Oʻahu, and proudly serves as the State Representative for District 44, representing the communities of Māʻili, Lualualei, Nānākuli, Honokai Hale, and Ko Olina. A lifelong resident of the Leeward Coast, Darius is a 2013 graduate of Kapolei High School and went on to pursue a collegiate football career while studying broadcast journalism in Tennessee, California, and Oregon.
Although he has spent his entire life on the Leeward Coast, Darius and his family have never owned a home—an experience that gives him a deep understanding of the challenges Hawaiʻi families face in achieving homeownership. Growing up in a two-parent household supported by a single income, Darius’s experiences and hardships shaped his values and determination, molding him into the dedicated leader and advocate he is today.

Our community is built by the working people of Māʻili, Nānākuli, Lualualei, Ko Olina, and Honokai Hale. They are the backbone of our schools, hospitals, construction sites, local businesses, and public services. Darius remains committed to listening, serving, and standing up for the needs of our families every day.
